Gift for Gatiss. One month to go.
17th October 2014
It’s that time of year again. A date for your diaries. Mark Gatiss’ birthday. The man who makes you laugh, and cry. Who writes for your favourite shows, and stars in them too.
Mark will be 48 this year and once again we wanted to give something back to this wonderful and help him celebrate his birthday.
Get involved however you can, this blog is now yours. Leave birthday messages in our ask and we’ll publish them for him to see. Our submit box is also open so go mad and post a photo or video, you can also send things via happybirthdaymarkgatiss@gmail.com. It’s totally up to you. We’ll accept any sort of ‘Happy Birthday’. If we can bring a smile to his face, even for a second, our work is done.
We also have a donation page open if you’d like to do a little more than just say Happy Birthday. As many of you may know, Mark is a patron of The London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard, LLGS, a voluntary organisation who have been providing support and information for the LGBT community since 1974.
Mark became a patron for LLGS a number of years ago and this is why we’ve set up a donation page in honour of his birthday. If you have a bit of money to spare and wish to donate to this small, but essential, organisation you can do so here. They operate on the generosity of volunteers, every day of the year, but still need support for running costs. On average it costs just £3 to answer a call, but it could make a huge different to the person that needs help or support.
Donate Here
How to donate: Click on the Virgin Giving Link and follow the instructions. You can choose how much you give. Paypal, Visa, Mastercard and American Express are all accepted. If you are a tax payer in the UK please don’t forget to ‘gift aid’ your donation, this will allow LLGS to claim back tax on your donation. You don’t have to live in the UK to donate. Virign will accept transactions from all over the world, however the donation will be taken in UK pounds sterling. So the amount you donate in your currency will differ to the amount in pounds. Please go here for up to date currency conversion rates.
For example to donate £5, the amount you would *actually* donate would be $8.11/€6.27
£10 would be $15.90/€11.92.
£20 would be $31.84/€23.84
£50 would be $79.51/€59.61
Please double check the exchange rate, these figures were correct at the time of writing but exchange rates change all the time.
Charity Auction
Have you ever wanted to commission a piece of art, or a fic? Now maybe your chance.
We ran this last year and it was very successful. However first we need something to auction! If your an artist, writer, photoshopper or podficcer that would be willing to donate your skills to help raise money then please get in contact.
You can specify before the auction exactly what your offering and anything you won’t do.
For example an artist might offer: 2 characters in colour, no background. Nothing explict. Sherlock characters only.
A writer may offer: A 221b drabble. Any characters.
It is for you to decide what you’re willing to offer.
If you’d like to take part we need a description of what you’re willing to offer and a couple of links to previous pieces of work for reference.
I’m hoping to run the auction on the weekend beginning 11th so signups will be closing on the 8th October.
Once signups are over there will be an auction site created where people can bid on the skills on offer. Once the bid is over, winners will be required to make the winning bid as a donation and the artist/writer/ect will be given the URL of the winner.
We will make it clear that there is no time limit on when commissions must be finished, and for those concerned the finished work will not be linked on the birthday blog so there will be no chance of Mark seeing it.
If anyone has any questions regarding this please contact us. Please PLEASE share this with your talented friends, we would like to get as many people involved as possible.
What if I can’t donate? That’s ok, we know not everyone will be able to. You can still send in your birthday messages and celebrate with us.
If everyone can reblog this post to get it out there, that’d be great.
Thank you!
17th October, put it in your diary!

Mark Gatiss has a perfect face

cinderlily33:

Do you ever get so emotional over Mark Gatiss’ face that you can’t even breathe?

I mean, look at him:

HIS EYES:

HIS EYELASHES AND HIS EYEBROWS:

I especially love the wrinkles around his eyes:

HIS NOSE:

His nose is even more perfect when it crinkles when he smiles/laughs:

Or how about that little crease he gets in his forehead sometimes:

HIS MOLES:

HIS MOUTH/LIPS:

HIS RIDICULOUSLY SEXY SMILE:

HIS FRECKLES:

WITH A BEARD:

OR WITHOUT A BEARD:

He’s just PERFECT.

Oh my God, this is almost too much to me…

Happy Gatiss Wednesday!

Pink Pink Pink!

Do you know what day it is, Dave?

*drum roll*

Huzzah yes indeed it’s Gatiss Wednesday! The most Gatiss-packed day of the week. And also known as hump day. I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions…
